Guild Wars 2 Charter
Grievance GW2 Charter: This Charter does not supersede the Grievance Organization charter. All members/Alliance members are expected to be familiar with the Grievance Organization Charter prior to joining Grievance. Grievance is all about FAMILY, HONOR, and LOYALTY. We take these ideals very seriously. We are both a raiding and casual guild and we also understand that real life comes first. When you wear the Grievance tag, you are representing Grievance as an organization not just a guild member. Treat others as you would like your own personal family members, friends and selves to be treated.
Disclaimer: This charter can and WILL change as the guild grows and new game mechanics are revealed. Application and promotion process WILL become more complicated and harder as the guild grows. The Guild Leader reserves the right to make changes and rulings to this policy at any time, including on the spot changes and rulings at any time. This will enable him or her to keep things fair and correct any loopholes.
Clauses to be aware of…..
Guild Leader Clause: The Guild Leader reserves the right to make decisions that may supersede and/or contradict the charter and policies of the Guild. These decisions will always be made with the betterment of the guild as a whole and must never be made lightly. The Guild Leader has the final word on ALL decisions concerning the Guild, Guild forum section, charter, and/or anything pertaining to the Grievance Guild Wars 2 Guild. All decisions made by the Guild Leader can and will be reviewed by the Grievance Council to ensure fairness to all members
Common Sense Clause: Since no policy is 100% free of loopholes or exploitation the officers are there to make sure all things are done fairly. All changes made to the charter in this matter will be reviewed by the Guild Leader before being set in stone.
NO DRAMA CLAUSE: Any member found to cause and/or instigating extreme drama within the guild will be asked to leave. The Guild Leader will make the determination of what qualifies as extreme drama, and what does not.
The Guild: The advancement of the Guild is the very important. Guild progress equals personal progress. If you are not a team player, you will want to find another guild. We don’t want you!
The Guild’s responsibility to you the player: The Guild is responsible to your main character and only your main character. As a Guild we will help gear you up with the best gear and help with any world events or missions you need to progress through the game. You (the player) are responsible for your own actions and all other characters that you may play (read alternate characters). If you have chosen Grievance as your Home/Primary guild you are expected to be representative of Grievance and act as ambassadors to your ally guilds.
If you have joined Grievance Guild Wars 2 Guild as an Ally you will be required to go through the same application and recruit process as the Home/primary members but your character will not have all the privileges of a Home/Primary member.
Applying to Grievance: If you have chosen to make Grievance your home/primary guild you will be required to first sign up on the forums at www.grievanceguild.com, and then post within the “Forum Registration/Applications” forum. This is a requirement for ALL future Grievance members no matter what Guild/Clan they wish to join. This process also applies to the Ally members. Once you have posted you can send a PM to the Guild Leader, Recruiting Officer, or just wait until someone replies to your thread directing you on what to do next.
Requirements to join Grievance:
-Applicants MUST register on the Grievance forums prior to invite
-Applicants MUST be 18yrs of age or older. Exceptions may be for real life friends/family
-Applicants MUST have Ventrillo downloaded and able to fully communicate with other players
-Applicants MUST have read the Grievance Organizational Charter AND this Charter prior to joining.
All members whether they are home/primary or ally members will go through a 3 week recruitment period during which time they may join us on Ventrillo and get to know the other members of Grievance. Communication is extremely important in the gaming world today and we have dedicated Ventrillo channels for your use. This will give us, as well as you (the applicant) an opportunity to see if your membership into the Guild is a good fit or not. Applicants found not to be a good fit will be notified and then denied membership.
Three Strike Rule:
Strike One!
All members are allowed one free pass back into the Guild (no questions asked) unless they were kicked out or left on bad terms. Said member will have to go through the recruit process again. If after the 3 weeks they have shown they really want to be back then they will be let back in as a member. Any member that got kicked out and/or left on bad terms please refer below to “Strike Two!” below. You used your first strike.
Strike Two!
If a member has left the Guild a second time OR had been removed and/or left on bad terms, said member must present his/her case in front of the current officers (that must include the Clan Leader) to state their case for re-admittance into the Guild. Said officers will discuss the applicant’s case then the Guild Leader will make a decision based on the information at hand. As in the paragraph above, said member will have to go through the recruit process again.
Strike Three!
If any member has left Grievance twice for any reason other than RL (real life) circumstances or helping another recognized Grievance/Clan, then said member is not welcome back into the family and will be Life Banned from the entire Grievance Organization. Grievance does not believe in a revolving door policy and expects its members to think before they act too hastily when it comes to leaving the Guild. Said member may schedule an appointment during the next Grievance Council meeting if he/she desires to petition a Life Ban.
As Always, the Council reserves the right to override any of the above for betterment of Grievance.
Guild Ranking System:
Guild Leader (GL) – The Guild Leader is responsible for the overall smooth running of the Guild, the Guild forum, and anything else pertaining to Grievance Guild Wars 2. It is the Guild Leader’s responsibility to set in-game and out of game (if necessary) goals for the Guild to provide the proper direction and course for Grievance. The Guild Leader has the final say so on all things pertaining to the workings of the Guild and its membership. At any time the Guild Leader may assume the responsibilities of any other Officer position within the Guild if necessary and can override any decision made by another officer if said decision is deemed to be detrimental to the Guild. As an extension of the overall Grievance Organization (Grievance Global Gaming), the Guild Leader is expected to operate and make all decisions with the betterment of Grievance as a whole in mind.
Executive Officer (XO) – The XO is literally the direct extension of the GL and only answers to the GL. The XO is in complete charge of the guild whenever the GL is not present and has the GL’s authority to make on-the-spot decisions for the betterment of the Guild if needed. As with the GL, the XO can assume other Officer positions as needed. As with the GL, the XO can override another Officer’s decision (with the exception of the GL) if deemed necessary.
Warlord Officer (WO, PvE, WvW, PvP Lead) – The WO is responsible for setting up and scheduling dungeon runs and PvP/WvW events. Schedules will be posted 24-48 hrs in advance and will usually (not always) cover a full week. All schedules must be communicated to the GL in advance for approval before being submitted. The WO is the third in command of the entire Grievance Guild Wars 2 Guild and is only answerable to the GL and the XO.
Recruitment Officer (RO) – The RO is ultimately responsible for the growth of Grievance and all matters pertaining to recruitment within Grievance. It is the RO’s responsibility to indoctrinate new recruits into the Guild by going over what is expected of them. The RO will automatically become a member of the Grievance Organization’s Community Outreach Group (COG). The RO will be required to hold regular meetings in Ventrilo as a method of indoctrination. The frequency of these meetings will be determined by the RO based on the number of new applicants who join GW2. The RO is considered fourth in command of the entire Grievance Guild Wars 2 Guild and is only answerable to the GL and the XO.
Task Leaders (TL): The TLs are directly responsible for certain tasks within the guild itself. These tasks can range from managing the Guild Bank, organizing crafters, assisting with recruiting,or just being responsible for getting groups going on a daily basis. Task Leaders are appointed by the Guild Leader and considered Junior Officers within the guild.
Members (Home/Primary) – These members are those that have chosen to make Grievance their home/primary Guild. They are members that wish to enjoy the family aspect of Grievance.
Recruit – Upon being accepted into Grievance, a new member is considered a recruit and has three weeks to meet certain Guild qualifications. This also includes Ally Guild Members. Recruits may join in Ventrillo and also play in practices.
Ally – These are members who have been through the recruit process and who have another guild as their home/Primary guild. These members will not have all the permissions of the home guild member. For instance they will not be given permission to wear the guild emblem nor will they have permission to withdraw or view the guild banks. Ally members will have the benefit of running in open world guild sanctioned events to include PvP/WvW. They will also have the privilege of communicating in Grievance guild chat.
Primary/Home Guild vs. Alternate Guilds (Ally): This is a system unique to Guild Wars 2. It is designed so that a player can jump between multiple guilds straight from the UI in game. This system allows players to be in multiple guilds at a time kind of like being able to jump to different social groups. Because of this unique system we had to address players coming in from other guilds but wanting to be a part of Grievance. The players who have claimed other guilds as their home guild (Primary guild) will be given the title of Ally to distinguish them from the other Grievance members who have chosen to make Grievance their home/primary guild. At any time an Ally member wishes to make Grievance their Primary/Home guild, they will have to have completed the 3 week recruitment period and then will be interviewed by the GL and XO to determine if they are a good fit for Grievance. Also Grievance GW2 officers will not be allowed to be in/represent any other guild outside of Grievance. This is to insure loyalty to Grievance as well as insure that Grievance is receiving the full benefits of its members such as influence gains.
CTA: A “call to arms” is called when a keep we have claimed is under attack, we are called upon to defend our server, to attack certain targets, or when there are large scale world events like killing dragons or large scale world bosses. CTAs are announced in Ventrilo and in in-game guild chat. If no officer is online then there will NOT be a guild CTA, but members may take it upon themselves to rally people and defend/defeat. If the GL, XO, or WO are present or logs on then they will be allowed to take the lead position as needed.
Loot System and Raiding: Currently in GW2, currency is something that is awarded for participation in events. There are several types of currency: coin/influence/karma/tokens/gems. GW2 is not based on a repetitive gear treadmill. Grievance will run raids that will be for content completion and token acquisition, which is rewarded by participation instead of random chance or loot rolling (Aka DKP System). Weapons and Armor are also acquired in some instances during these events but are automatically distributed to the player as any normal game loot is and are not considered Dungeon rewarded loot. In GW2, Dungeons award players with tokens. Tokens can then be turned into a Dungeon Vendor where they can purchase armor and weapon sets of their choosing. Although each dungeon has its own unique weapons and armor set, these items are not any more powerful than what a player would receive by doing other activities. This reward method does not require a biding system such as DKP or loot rolling (which does not exist as a game mechanic at this time). All scheduled events will be on a volunteer basis. If a player wishes to participate in scheduled event runs they may do so until all guild party is full. We will outfit as many groups as are interested. Dungeons and instanced PvP are designed for 5 players, World vs World and World events/dynamic events are not limited to the size of your party but will be best coordinated by forming squads.
